Test Predicts the future?
Making money is great but the old saying goes “When you’re young you chase money and when your old you chase health.” You can have all the money in the world but if you don’t have health you have nothing.
Well I can’t predict the future of sporting events even thought that would be nice. It seems we can now predict the future of heart attacks up to five years in advance.
That’s really good news.
All with a simple blood test.
If it was a very expensive test that would be bad but it’s rather cheap and many times people can get the test with their regular lab visit.
It’s called immunoglobulin G or (IgG).
Immunoglobulins are what the immune system produces to stave off disease.
There are many kinds like IgE which is the one that is released due to allergies and cause the usual summer sniffing and sneezing.
But IgG is by far the most prevalent making up around 80% of our immune response.
Now the great prediction ability of the Ig-G is that if you have high levels in your blood you have a 58% less chance of heart attack risk in the next 5 years. And get this. There was 38% reduction in stroke risk.
Here’s what the lead researcher Dr. Ramzi Khamis consultant cardiologist at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London said. “Linking a stronger, more robust immune system to protection from heart attacks is a really exciting finding.”
The study showed this blood test was a better predictor of heart attack and stroke than the usual FAB five (cholesterol, blood pressure, exercise, obesity and smoking) combined.
The big problem with these common risk factors is that they are not that reliable.
Some people with those risk factors don’t get heart attack/stroke and some do. It’s hit and miss at best.
But now if you have a high immune response armed and ready to go you are in good shape.
The higher the Ig-G the lower risk of heart attack by up to 58% and stroke by 38% in the next five years.
Here’s the crazy part. If you have high cholesterol and high blood pressure and your immunoglobulin’s are high then they did not factor into risk.
I’m not saying that you shouldn’t treat your cholesterol or high blood pressure but it might not matter if your IgG’s are high.
So now you ask if my IgG is low how can I raise my it?
The surprise is supplements.
I’m not really surprised because if a drug could raise IgG it would be plastered all over the news and every doctor on the planet would be ordering the test and prescribing the medication.
When natural remedies like simple vitamins raise IgG levels you will never hear about it.
Here’s the top 5:
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin D
- Vitamin E
- Vitamin A
- vitamin B-6.
So there you have it.
Get your IgG tested and if you’re low get on these supplements fast.
It just makes sense that if your immune system is armed and ready you have less chance of artery damage and therefore heart attack.
